USA Karate/Kwanmukan Leadership Positions

Below are the current leadership positions of the newly combined organization and some job descriptions. This will be further developed. There may be room for USA Karate Federation board members, so if you are interested, forward your resume.

Kobudo

Michael Bukala- Technical matters concerning the art of Kobudo, including setting standards, establishing ranking standards, procedures for disseminating technical knowledge, and establishing working relations with other Kobudo organizations.

USA Sports Jujitsu Alliance

Michael Antonides – For sport karate, this includes the structure, development, management, and training of athletes, coaches, and referees for national and international events; the development of the sports structure includes local, regional, national, and international involvement, including working with other such organizations. Within this definition are the arts of sports jujitsu, MMA, MMA light, grappling, and BJJ.


David Chance – Competition Director for competitions and events for Sport Jujitsu. Events may include duo and grappling – gi and no gi and Judo competition.


Sport Karate

Anthony Harmon – For sport karate, this includes the structure, development, management, and training of athletes, coaches, and referees for national and international events; the development of the sports structure includes local, regional, national, and international involvement, including working with other such organizations.




Traditional Karate (Budo Karate)

Grant Campbell – Responsibilities include membership activities, events and support for those interested in Traditional Karate.  Traditional Karate emphasizes Budo, a Japanese concept transplanted into Karate, a traditionally Okinawan art. Budo is a compound word, Bu 武 (Warrior, War) and Do 道 (The Way, Path, Lifestyle). When combined the two words come together to form Budo, or “The Path of the Warrior”. This isn’t necessarily synonymous with a soldiers lifestyle, but instead a path of self-discipline and focus with determination to improve yourself using Karate methods as the vehicle.

Corinne Housley - International Relations – Managing communications and liaison with all organizational divisions in international affairs.

Kwanmukan

Patrick Hickey – Continued operations as director of the Kwanmukan. Kwanmukan Management Committee runs the business aspects of Kwanmukan as they are currently done.
