Testing Schedule
To make sure there is enough parking we will use a rolling start per the below schedule:
1 PM Start – Testing for White, Orange, and Yellow Belts
3 PM Start – All other Ranks
Additional Testing Detail
The determination of the 32 Ippon Kumite at the test will be up to the student. That is, if they are required to do 20, then they do 20, but we will not stipulate which 20 they do. Hopefully, they will at least do it in groups of four.
There will be free-fighting for blue belt and above.
For free-fighting, gloves, headgear, and a mouthpiece are required. Unreasonable gear will not be permitted. Black belts not testing may join in the free-fighting.
We will start with Warmups for all. Depending on numbers, we may or may not split into groups. Following University of Akron, possible groups would be Kwan Bu, Ippon Kumite, and Kata. Free-fighting would be last. We may also have a mat kicking session again depending on numbers or work this into the warmup. It all depends on how numbers look once we get there.
As in the past, we will not do the actual promotion at the site. This will take place at the dojo.
Senior dan will sit on the senior dan board. Testing will be run by Mid ranks. Lower black belts will assist as necessary. This is similar to how we do the Anderson Cup.
Please respond with any concerns.
